orcinus 121 Posted August 22, 2013 "It's not my computer or anything." Does that mean you have checked the logs in the Event viewer and there are no error or warning messages? I still think it may be something to do with mods, especially as your first run of the vanilla game with the " -mod=" addition to the shortcut worked fine. Take out all mods from the game install (just move them to another, new, directory for now). Make doubly sure that the game folders - especially the default "Addons" folder - do not contain any mod files, only Arma2/Arma2OA files. Non-game files in that folder can seriously screw up the game. Then try the vanilla game again. By the way, if you try to launch a saved game without a mod that was loaded when the game was saved, you will indeed get a CTD - usually with a message about missing content. Use "restart" rather than "resume" & hit OK when the game warns that this will delete all saves for that mission.
Kellmondo 10 Posted August 22, 2013 I just played the EW campaign like normal, my game went off, and I found this in the Event Viewer. It's an application error, seems to be my TeamSpeak... kklownboy 43 Posted August 23, 2013 ts3overlay_hook_win32.dll And did you turn off the overlay in your TsS plugins? Did you update to 3.0.11.1?( I havent) Are using ACRE?(I do) Along with the plugin, are you using any other overlay? Like a HW logger, Shader app? Steam overlay? Are you using any Mods with a custom Menu? PS: get a 64bit OS...
Kellmondo 10 Posted August 23, 2013 1. I use the TS Overlay, it does it automatically 2. I have 3.0.11.1 3. I don't use ACRE 4. When playing normal ArmA 2, I use the Steam Overlay (Shift + Tab for Steam menu) 5. No 6. I have 64bit
orcinus 121 Posted August 23, 2013 The error code is the key, I think. It means the system attempted to access a restricted or unavailable memory location, & indicates several possible causes including faulty RAM or a corrupted registry. Google it & you'll see what I mean.
Kellmondo 10 Posted August 23, 2013 Would getting an earlier version of TeamSpeak work? ---------- Post added at 15:45 ---------- Previous post was at 14:06 ---------- The error code is the key Don't you mean the Exception Code?
orcinus 121 Posted August 23, 2013 Don't you mean the Exception Code? Yes, they are often referred to as "error" codes though "Exception" is technically more correct. Specifically, it's complaining about a memory access violation. Interestingly today I Googled it myself and apparently at least one recent Windows updates is borked - see here and here for a couple of many current reports. Interesting to me since, though I've had little time to play over the past few weeks, I did grab some time the evening before last & twice had the game freeze on me. I'll be uninstalling that update tonight. OTOH, that particular code is also associated with issues like hardware problems (RAM, HDD) as well as OS or registry corruption. I note you started having problems before that update was released, but you might try uninstalling it & see if the vanilla game runs OK now.
kklownboy 43 Posted August 23, 2013 In your Plugins folder, you should have a "ts3overlay_win64.dll. Also in that folder you have a "ts3overlay". If your TS3 Client is 64bit,( which it should be if you are using a 64bit OS) then you should have the "ts3overlay_win64.dll". Not a win32.dll. The "exception" error can be alot of different things. Most likely a software issue causing a hardware issue. And with the available info you have given, It could be the sound/hardware error due to the wrong dll, and/or a conflict with steam overlay( it happens alot). Have you unchecked the overlay? As for testing with the "vanilla" version of ARMA2_OA,(no mods) only use the "stable beta is 103718". Don't bother with the default exe, as it is old and out of date. Make sure your DayZ stuff isn't interacting with the A2_OA side of the game.
Kellmondo 10 Posted August 23, 2013 Everything seems to work fine now I've unchecked the Overlay :) :) :) Thankyou :
