Pilot view problem

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

After 3 hours I managed to import my gun in Arma 3 :yay: I was so happy when there weren't errors, too bad that this happened:

How can I fix that? I have the pilot view LOD, the eye LOD, the one that tells where the gun is pointing and some more I can't remember, can you explain me how I can fix that? You'd do me a big favor since I've spent lot of time to model that MP7 (I started using 3ds max 3 days ago, so I think that's a good result and yes half of the gun goes away when I enter third person, giving me the error that it can't find or load the texture, I don't remember) and I need patient people because I'm good with scripting but I've never tried to edit or create a config.cpp for the gun or the model, thanks and please if you're good with it help me, I really spent lot of time modelling that just to see it on the game (I purely made it for fun, since when most of the guys in my clan aren't online I make some battles in the editor for me and in CQC combat I don't like the guns we have :) )

Thanks again,

Holden

EDIT: I'd like a good explanation, maybe with some help on the files, if you can add me on Steam: NeonIT9

Hey, Holden93. Right now I can see the obvious errors given in the image. First off the gun rotation is off.

To fix this you need to rotate it in O2. To rotate in O2 look directly under the "Help" option in the tool bar. You should see 3 boxes representing Transform, Rotate, and Scale. In Oxygen go up to the "Window" Toolbar then open up "Four Views." Zoom into to the top left viewport which should be "Front View." In the viewport your gun should be facing left ie, the barrel on the left and the stock on the right."

I would also like to note that when transforming rotating or scaling your weapon you have the option to do it to all the LODs at once. After clicking one of the editing options you get a box with the values and a few other check boxes. Check the "Apply to all LODs." this can be much faster and accurate instead of moving each layer individually.

Next it is too big! Just select you gun the click the scale icon! Not too hard but this does take some patients to get it to the right size. A lot of back a forth.

Lastly, your gun looks like it's "inside out" if you know what I mean?

To fix this select everything your whole gun go to "Structure" in the toolbar. then click on of the "Triangulate \" options. (I usually just do the top one) The if you look at your model there should be a bunch of blue lines now facing outwards.

Any more questions add me on steam!

zachgibson222 .....3 2s because one of my keys got stolen for a game so I made a new account to buy a new game.. :(

Sent you a friend request, thanks ^_^ I followed your guide at first, it's a pretty nice guide but after a bit in the coding section I got confused, mostly because I've never seen those commands. Everything was explained nicely though.

Thanks to divinitize I fixed the rotation anyway, I thought I needed to specify where the guy must put his hands in oxygen :p (that software sucks).

Thanks for the help! I'll ask you somethings on Steam once you're on ^.^
