Task Modules/Order of tasks in briefing

How can you change the order in which the tasks are displayed in the briefing if you are using the taskmodules? only if you place the first, as first and so on? would be bad, cause my mission is almost ready...? THX in advance

Use scripts or hope for the best. When I was messing with it when they showed up seemed random at best and maliciously incorrect at worst.

I just pointed someone else having task trouble to my recent mission. I used modules to create and assign the tasks and fought with it for quite a while before I got it working properly. One of the most annoying things was getting the task order right without it being random. I did this by synchronizing the tasks with each player individually, and in the order I wanted them assigned. To be honest it is better to write out the script yourself than relying on the task module. This way the guys who JIP will have the same task when joining the server. I've done it the way Sergeant Rock did but I find that a hassle to do. Just make a template file that has example of all the BIS functions you need and just copy and paste a example in your mission and of course edit it to your needs.

Well, sure, able to use (with some search) a script instead of using the modules. But would be sad if the modules are here finally for easy creation and then they dont work. i think we should work with the modules so we can report bugs, so they might fully work in the gold release!

I tried to bring them in order the following way. desynced all tasks from the player and then sync them back again in the order i wanted them. didnt work...;-(?

This really needs to get fixed. It is so weird that they would go into the effort of making these modules but have such a big oversight. Really weird :(

Messing around with group links I found a workaround. You group link (not sync) all the modules to the last one in reverse order. So let's say you have 5 modules:
Link 4th to 5th, then 3rd to 5th, then 2nd to 5th and finally 1st to 5th with this exact order. I confirmed this working with up to 9 modules (and should probably work above this).
However with even numbers there is one misalignment present and it gets more complicated to fix. But since it's always only one I would suggest that you preview, find
and adjust the module subjects accordingly. Happy editing! :)
