UKSubmariner 0 Posted August 7, 2002 I was just re-reading this old Tom Clancy book and I gotta say, it's got all the Flashpoint Elements... Huge Tank battles and Spec Ops actions... Anyone else read this? Anyone think this'd be a good couple of missions?

From spec ops missions (Russian, American, British, NATO specops teams jumping into a Chinese Nuke site trying to blow up the nuke silos before the missiles launch. WITH Apache support above) to large scale tank battles in trecherous (northern china, siberia, southern Russia) terrain.
Aguacate 0 Posted August 8, 2002 It's called "Red Storm Rising" and it is about 15 years old. Good book

I read Bear and The Dragon, but I couldn't stand it.. All of Clancy's later books after "SSN" in my opinion have decreased in quality, and realism (An example of the is in Rainbow 6, when they're in the pub near the SAS base.. They pay for their beers as they leave, despite there being in a Brit pub (They'd have got Rounds in)

(T)r@cer 1 Posted August 9, 2002 Yes, there was a Red Storm Rising mod. Its closed however. We actually never even started. SAS was the leader... and I did the missions, Sole was there too and a couple of others. We actually never even started. So I started my own mod.
