ARMA 2 Weapons and Uniforms import to Arma 3

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Is there a way to use this uniforms, Armour vest, helmets in ARMA 3?:

I know those items are from ARMA 2... but, is there a software and tutorial to remove them give the atributes for ARMA 3?.

There are a lot of excelent assault rifles and weapons in ARMA 2 but there are some problem in the import for example:

The excelent and very sexy... Stayr AUG 3: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9505

But when you use it in ARMA 3 in the load show up a message box with this information: "MID Weapons need CAWeapons". You can use it in the multiplayer version too but just the AUGs who don´t have the grenade launcher, because the item it´s desable it. I know there must be a way to use it complete this weapons but... again the same question: is there a software and tutorial to make a full import?.

Or, Can some one please import all those items for AMRA 3?.

Thank you and regards.

Understand the arma2 uniforms and vests were actually part of the player models unlike in arma3, helmets could be separated and actually forced to be worn on your model via your player profile so I'm sure some people with time on their hands can have them ported over, but as for the uniforms and vests someone will have to make separate models. Kinda the same story with weapons, arma2 weapons were multiple models with various attachments, where ArmA3 is a single model with support to add and remove the attachments with any combination so long as the weapon supports the attachment itself.

You mean besides All in Arma? ;) I can safely rule out "uniforms, Armour vest, helmets" though since in A2 those were/are part of the unit model.

I'd suggest learning how to make a weapon native to Arma 3 in the first place, but from what I understand, if you're not using All in Arma then you'd have to modify the Arma 2 weapon, which means GET THE MODDER'S PERMISSION FIRST!

For what it's worth though, these guidelines explain what's new under the hood, and as far as Arma 2 weapons the rule of thumb would/should be to use the "base" (no attachments) weapon model for the reasons that Steakslim described.
