Button for fire mode?

Recommended Posts

Since the Beta started, i can't find the button that switches the gun's fire mode (auto to semi-auto). I've checked every single controls page, but i can't find it. When i check the field manual it says "UNDEFINED" But i can't find a way to define it. Help?

Standard it's 'F'. If you'd checked the settings for keyboard you would have found it.. ;)

In ArmA 2 you had to use the Toggle Weapons key to change fire mode. That resulted in players having to cycle through grenade launchers, smoke grenades and other gear just to go from semi to auto. This could be greatly improved if it's not already.

I would also like to find this. I do not even have the option to designate a button or key for the Fire Mode, as it just doesn't exist in my controller options list. In the field manual it is listed as "undefined". "F" does nothing as I have not assigned it to anything. This is not the same for ArmA 2, it is fine, and before this recent update, so was ArmA 3. I have searched through the Preset button lists and there is still no option for Fire Mode.

This has been greatly improved since Arma 2.

Thrown items (grenades, chemlights, smoke grenades) are separate from your main weapons now, using Ctrl+G to cycle through throwables and G to throw.

It's now also possible to bind a key to cycle backwards through muzzles/fire-modes on your current weapon/turret - which is great for weapons with three fire modes as you can go directly from any given fire mode to either of the other two so long as you remember the order they cycle in. I have F for next fire mode and Left Shift+F for previous fire mode - the option to bind it is under \Options\Controls\Weapons\Previous Weapon.

There's also a quick-key to switch from your current weapon to your missile launcher and back again (Right Ctrl+;) in addition to the existing function to do the same between your primary and secondary weapon ;.

Well, after I wrote my response to this I found the option to use "Next Weapon", this will switch fire modes on any weapons, as well as select weapons in Helicopters, Vehicles etc...
