sephis 10 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Well, just put it to the ultra preset and turned the view distance to 2k and my frame rate is nearly double. Shame it cost me £300 to gewt the game running smoothly but I guess it was about time to upgrade anyway :-) EDIT: I just tested with and without SLI and there is no difference whatsoever so THAT issue still remains unfortunately. At least the game is now playable. Edited June 11, 2013 by sephis

I have the new chip clocked at 4ghz (going to try for 4.5). Yes it's a fresh install but I did a fresh install just before with the 860.

Yes it's a fresh install but I did a fresh install just before with the 860. at this point i would start thinking about water cooling, for the sake of longevity. I am about to ask you to do alot of work but is there anyway we can get a clock for clock comparison of you old system vs your new? I assume everything but the mother board and CPU are the same? I ask this because i was just reading an article about a head to head test done of a 3770k vs a i7 920 (clock for clock) in a nut shell the 920 kept right up with the 3770K...yes the 3770 is still the better chip :) game bench marks http://alienbabeltech.com/main/ivy-bridge-3770k-gaming-results-vs-core-i7-920-at-4-2ghz/5/ http://alienbabeltech.com/main/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/GTX680-games-1.jpg (135 kB) Edited June 12, 2013 by ric

At 4ghz it performs just as well as the newer i7's. The biggest thing the newer i7's have going for them is less heat and they can clock higher.
