cricket 0 Posted October 11, 2002 When you set your weapon to auto or burst, then get in a vehicle and get out, the weapon resets to single fire. Great Game! cant wait to see what happens to this game in a year. Btw, if it keeps improving, i will happily keep buying updates or new versions. shadow 6 Posted October 11, 2002 I don't think this is a bug. It's been like that since v1.0 and in all the demo-versions.
Placebo 29 Posted October 11, 2002 I'd put this more in the "slightly annoying but there are much more important things in life to worry about" type of quirke category, my own personal pet-peeve-quirke is where you're crouched and you pick up a weapon and are changed to being standing up, I find that annoying but tis no major biggy
LBGS_Stewart 0 Posted October 11, 2002 or when being healed by a medic when crouched or prone and after being healed your standing up being exposed to fire
Placebo 29 Posted October 11, 2002 Yup exactly, I'm sure we could all make a list of silly little quirkes that annoy us, however we could also make a list of fantastic Opf things that blow us away, I know which of the two lists would be much the longer for me
cricket 0 Posted October 14, 2002 Wow, i forgot what a bug is. I've been playing simulations for 2 long. In those games anything unrealistic is "said" to be a bug, but your right. Yeah, i agree about ofp being a very good game. An unpolished very good game, but a very good game at that. Many of the original complaints i had about 1.0 was also a concern to the ofp devs according to a port-mortem)sp?) i read. My problem is with multiplayer, basically you play different maps but you do the same thing over and over and end up also running into those same "quirks" over and over. It gets tedious after awhile. This is just MY opinion on what would make this better, i do not think more addons make this game better in light of all the little annoyances. I think they should improve what is already there and add more immersion.
cricket 0 Posted October 14, 2002 Also, (just to give my vote) Instead of addons: just to let BIS know. I think i speak for a lot of people when i say that i would pay full game price if they would update models and player animations to a Ghost Recon level. As well as add more functionality to the "current" code. IE indoor collision detection, some sounds, ability to crouch at different levels(which would be great and solve the problem of not being able to lean up and shoot out of some windows you should be able to. panic movement functionality- i mean being able to interupt an action to move out of the way of harm. shoot from vehicles etc, blah blah blah Im sure BIS would say: "sure thing, will have that on your desk tommorow morning , *^!hole!" Greg 0 Posted October 14, 2002 You are absolutely right cricket, the difference between a good game and a great game is not having the immersion spoiled by hundreds of small but annoying quirks that slap you back to reality.
Placebo 29 Posted October 14, 2002 Frankly I find Opf far too immersing to really notice or worry about any kind of lil quirke that may or may not be in there

While I wouldn't go as far as to call it a bug, it's a rather annoying quirk. Sure, it won't ruin the fun I get out of OFP, but it should definitely be fixed.
