DAoC stole my life for the last year  I'd played nothing but military games before a friend got me hooked on the rpg thing (which I always swore I'd never come near, and constantly made fun of him for playing I don't think it was the fun factor that got me hooked.  It's the fact that these companies produce a game where you pay THEM monthly to work your ass off.  I think maybe 40 to 50% of the time I had fun, but most of the time you just pay to work.  They just get you addicted to wanting to make 'progress' in a never ending cycle.  As far as the particular game DAoC... they add a slight twist to the rpg thing- the Realm vs. Realm.  You go take a keep, the enemy takes it back, you go take it, they take it back....  The PvP thing is interesting at first, but quickly becomes boring. I cancelled my account and have had nothing but Resistance on my screen since I wouldn't advise wasting your time.  Did I mention there aren't any guns?! MDRZulu 0 Posted July 24, 2002 If I ever make an rpg I will put all those faires, wolves, wizards, warriers, and shit in but I will make the player have modern weapons like M-16's, glocks, and what have you. Then you can go around immune to all that magic and just shoot them. Id imagine that might get boring after a while but I'd buy that game if I saw it at the store.
