rasdenfasden 12 Posted April 21, 2013 (edited) The way AI uses weapons in the Alpha currently feels unfinished. They don't lead targets properly, they turn at a snail's pace, and when the target is in front of them their aim is ridiculous (except for the lack of lead of course) and their guns are virtually recoilless. It's pretty obvious that this is one areas where things will change, so I think the time is right to throw out suggestions. I think AI accuracy is best handled by basing it on what they've done in the past few seconds. So let's say there's a constantly changing accuracy stat assigned to each bot. Every time they move, fire, rotate, etc. It goes down a bit, but it constantly regenerates. The speed of regeneration would be tied to skill, health and fatigue. So a prepared enemy will be able to deliver very dangerous fire, while a confused one will have far more trouble delivering accurate fire. Also, AI skill would matter more, because a skilled AI soldier will be able to quickly and precisely react to enemies, while an unskilled one will act overwhelmed and shoot around with virtually no accuracy in the same situation.
