Stupid chopper

I'm on the Red Hammer mission where you escape from the Island with the Chopper.... I got it repaired... (No mean feat might I add) and fly it to the area where I gotta get it refuled.... Then a radio message comes in from another squad..so of me and my copilot set.

Or do we..... Immedeatly after the cutscene.... the chopper starts slap bang in a tree... Big Bang. Me dead. Restart. Repeat ad infinitum.

Yeah, this is a pretty bad bug. What works for me is to hold down the ascent key (Q) the whole time the cutscene is playing. When the cutscene ends, I'm usually high enough up to regain control of the chopper. Also, make sure your nose isn't pointed downwards when the cutscene starts.

That kept happening to me in samson's war on terror campaign.

I'd be in the middle of something and then see a cutscene of a BMP.

Then I'd come roaring into the scene out of control and smash into the BMP. It was hilarious.

found an interesting way to combat this problem.........let the other guy fly.

Just have him go to the waypoint and it will all take its course.....after the cutscene though, immediately bail out. The chopper will go wacky on you but the computer guy will get it under control, then just proceed with the mission

did it this way:

approached the refuel area at 100m altitude. flew over it without lowering. cutscene kicks in. retry point gets updated. i crash. click retry and i'm back at 100m refuelled.
