liukang168 1 Posted April 14, 2013 And another question is it possible to add a custom sound to a unit. For example you wear a metal protected vest, which wouldnt sound on hit like flesh being hit, rather a *pling* from the metal plate. In my case I am building a Unit that is made out of metal :) So I would like to see if you can change the sound when the unit is hit by a bullet.
Messiah 2 Posted April 14, 2013 This is done via the RVMAT, where you add the following line at the start of the rvmat: surfaceInfo = "data\metal.bisurf";

liukang168 1 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) I just added the metal.rvmt instead of the meat.rvmt ... did its job. Seems like my solution doesnt work, makes the units not a threat ... Answered 2 early. Just created a bug, didnt had to do wit h that ... Works. Edited April 16, 2013 by liukang168
Messiah 2 Posted April 17, 2013 rvmats can't alter the threat of a unit, they're just there to tell the engine what material is being used, how shiney it is, etc etc - you've introduced that somewhere else.
liukang168 1 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) well weired, the unit makes impact sound of the bullets instead of the sound when flesh is hit Edited April 17, 2013 by liukang168

Sealife 22 Posted April 23, 2013 i always thought if the thicknes restitution etc on the bisurf meant the AI`s bullets wouldnt penetrate , it wouldnt have a go at it anymore ? much like armour too big for peashooter gun = fook that i am gonna get my launcher out ? Have you used metalplate or thin metal rvmat for your skin maybe ?

Have you used metalplate or thin metal rvmat for your skin maybe ? Hard to judge on that as the terminator has a high set armor value. Have to test that once i am back. I will update this on sunday...
