Need help with campaign and mods.

Recommended Posts

hey guys. I've been playing a lot of Arma recently. And recently I've been doing a lot of the single player/custom campaigns. The thing is, I want to play with mods but I'm not sure if the mods are messing with the story or not. What mods are able to work without messing up?

The mods I have been using are COwarmod and Jsrs mod.

However if the most important mods to me are the JSRS sound mod and the Twapac ( I think that's what its called) suppression mod.

Are these mods messing with the way the missions work? If so is there anyway to fix this? also what other mods would you recommend that don't mess with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In most cases only Ai mods can "break" missions/campaigns.

JSRS will not change nothing. TPWC dont change how whole Ai work, only change it's reaction to suppression fire so this should be ok to.

COWAR mod has many AI changes, so this mod can sometimes break missions. ACE also can break SP missions.

I also suggest to play with Warfx blastcore. You will have nice explosions and effects. :)

Ps: if you make your own mission/campaign remember to run clean arma 2. Don't make missions with for example: Jsrs, warfx or cowar launched with game. Later write in readme that you suggest to play with them.

Ps2: also replacement packs for units/weapons will not change how the mission works.

So only AI changing mods can realy break some missions. Units can go somewhere else from their places. For example: you will not find enemy that you should destroy in some places to finish task or mission.

COWarMod is one word.

WarMod is just a compilation mod, the COWarMod being the combined ops version ogf WarMod makes it COWarMod.

Not COWar.

No they can break missions but dont have to, just play the missions with Ai mod that you have, if tasks are finished, mission ends. All should be ok. Make a test so you will know if all is ok.

I don't know missions/campaigns that use COWarMod, Slx. In most cases missionmakers dont use Ai mods wenn they make missions.

Sometimes they use some Ai changing scripts or Upsmon like in Bardosy's Pirog and Chesty Puller campaigns.

So dont you worry, start playing with Ai mod if you like, if something will be wrong you will stop play with him.

@Gunter

Sorry that i write your mod name wrong :)

Thanks guys. Just one more last question. Are the missions in single player static or dynamic? By that I mean do enemies always spawn in the same place or not? Sometimes when I use mods I notice that sometimes enemies aren't there and are in different places or they come at a later time. Is this because of the mod or is it because the missions have "probability" of spawn on enemies?

Mission don't have to be "dynamic" and even then sometimes you dont have to meet some units, vehicles. For example they can be attacked somewhere by some units, or they have patrol waypoints with some radius. Sometimes some units have different chance to spawn etc.

But there also full dynamic missions, each time you play mission is different.

Does that apply to the official campaigns like Operation arrowhead and the PMC campaigns?
