Played more of the Tobruk map and really enjoyed it despite the limits of the AI in the demo. Sadly the Wake Island map seems to have been removed from every site I've tried ( but yes it was out there Jamesia ). It may only be an arcade game and we may still be waiting for a good WWII tactical shooter but I'll put it on my 'to get' list.

Somewhere out there the wargame / sim of our dreams is in the works but until then I think this and OFP could make a fun double feature.

The minute I saw a clip of someone doing a 'rocket jump' I knew that this game is just a clone of Quake in WWII clothes.

Looks like same old run and gun that I was happy to leave behind when I played Flashpoint.

Don't know what build the video was taken from but playing the demo I've seen some great rocket ( and shell ) jumps. Problem was you were always dead when you came down!

Explosives really hurt in this game. Perhaps somebody has figured it out from the demo ( I couldn't do it ) but I'd suggest they had invulnerability on in the video. You may have a health bar and first aid posts but most of the weapons seem so deadly that you usually die outright if your hit.

only people from the computer-press got the multiplayer demo (only one map). Monday we will all be able to download it!

Btw: I dont know what hapened but suddenly OFPR runs smooth like butter, I didnt change anything and it realy realy rocks, the missions are sooooooooooooo great!

Tex, you shouldnt take that game too serious, it is a goddamn arcade thing that you can play even if you only have 10 minutes available. From where are you downloading it (I use fileshack, but still waiting in line, how much time is it gona take ya?).

i got it off a link from the battlefield1942.com forums. I didnt wait in line or anything, and dl at about 75. But from what i saw of it in the short time i played it today, its not worth it.

It might have been the room i was in, but there were tkers eveywhere and it was lagging like hell.

Maybe itll be better when the cs guys leave once they get bored of it.

My advise, download the BW (Bundeswehr) MOD for OFP and you get realy good stuff!

Well, i don't think the graphic are anything special. There are places where it looks like a cartoon, clouds are not moving. Same goes for the sun.

I still thing nogova looks better.

Your talking cartoon but ofp trees and bushs are just paper

ofp graphics suck compared to battlefield 1942 , and you can swim in bf1942 unlike ofp

there will be submarines , you can take-off aircraft carriers use destroyers handle more then one gun on a vehicle (unlike ofp) it has less bugs, and if you crash to much to desktop consider buying a new PC

If you think BF1942 is so much better, why arent you posting on their forums?

If you havent got the idea, no one here really agrees with you...

I am not suggesting you stop posting..just curious why you are pissing into the wind...
