Converting .wav to .ogg

Recommended Posts

I want to add a sound to my mission that I have downloaded.

I have successfully added other soundfiles that were already .ogg when I got them but after I have converted this .wav-file to .ogg and try to play it in my mission OFP just crashes. I am using wavesurfer and I guess Im doing something wrong when converting the file from .wav to .ogg.

Any suggestions?

I use dbPowerAMP Music Converter. Its a great lil peice of software. Lotsa options biggrin.gif

I think if you define an ogg in CfgSounds it has to be mono, that could be causing OFP to crash with your .ogg files?

I tried the dbPowerAMP Music Converter first because it had a link. I noticed that I had already tried that one but with Ur link I found the .ogg coder addon.

Guess what, it worked the first try!

there is a program named 'oggdrop' its super easy to use and free...I cant quite remember where I got it but Im sure a search in google would turn it up quickly. ALl you hav to do with 'oggdrop' is open it, drag your wav file over the top of it, and it makes an ogg version of your sound. Hope this helps smile.gif

Actually I think Im gonna stick with the dbPowerAMP Music Converter because it takes like 10 seconds to convert a file from starting the program, thx anyway  smile.gif
