roguetrooper 2 Posted March 15, 2013 I'd like to have seen Arma III have some "neutral" faction setting. Not again "good west" vs. "evil other". For example some not locatable and not specified "North Alliance" vs. "South Alliance" (west vs. east again would be too obvious). With a "real" (near future, but already producable by mankind, i.e. no plasma guns or whatever) weapon and equipment setup in a "real" world but with exchangable/undefined/fictional factions. Binkowski 26 Posted March 15, 2013 I'm sure in the beta and or full game we will get an Independent faction.
2nd ranger 282 Posted March 15, 2013 Yeah dude, they just weren't included in the Alpha. From various config files and such things, it looks like there are going to be alot more factions including Greek Army, Greek resistance and Russian PMCs.
roguetrooper 2 Posted March 15, 2013 I know about that upcoming independent faction. I am already using the editor. I just mean the overall setting is again about (despite of a certain degree of futurity and fiction) "a real country" vs "another real country" (seemingly something like "NATO fights Iran in Greece"). No, I don't go and play another game (before somebody suggests)... also this faction-issue is NOT game-breaking. Just want to have said that the setting this time might have made "neutral" (so that players don't fight by default for or against existing countries) :)
chortles 263 Posted March 16, 2013 Look at the drama over the future setting, why do you think that the same complainers would have been okay with a more fictional setting than "NATO vs. OPFOR yet again"?
EvenLease 11 Posted March 16, 2013 Well Rogue... Mods will do that for you. Already to late to make a huge change like that. Not just that, this game really isn't about being a Neutral in a war conflict.
