Winfernal 2 Posted March 11, 2013 I hear that it happens on LAN servers as well. What is this? It would be nice if devs could give us some clarification. Most people believe it is hacks.
DavidO 1 Posted March 11, 2013 It's a bit of a coincidence then. I was venting my frustration earlier and my friend mentioned a major hacking site released their arma 3 aimbot and scripting bypass today and he blames that on his server being unplayable because of this. I'll ask him to change to LAN and join him in a game and see if it happens there as well.

Winfernal 2 Posted March 11, 2013 might not be hacking:http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=4143 Very interesting. I also heard something about an "anti-hack/piracy" system in earlier ArmA games that turned you into an seagull. (?) Anyways. Seems like it's not hacking after all. Vibe 1 Posted March 12, 2013 But I like being a seagull
Zickefoose 1 Posted March 12, 2013 Here is the thing, I tried installing the TAO Map from workaholic.com I added the extended Launch Command and then EVERYTHING went fucked. Anytime I would join a server, it would say I was using modified data. Then, turn everyone into seagulls when I press "ok" to enter the map. I did try deleting files and verifying integrity to replace bad files. Still kept turning people into seagulls... So I'm looking through the "Properties" of Arma 3 Alpha via steam. On the Beta tab I was opt into the developers build. I muse have checked it around the same time I tried mods. But, I turned it to " NONE - opt out of all betas " and it fixed my problem with me turning people in seagulls as soon as I logged in! I still had ONE occasion ( odd ) where when I joined after fixing it it said I was using a Modified Database. This time however, I did not turn everyone into a seagull. Though, shortly after someone did join in, and turn everyone into a seagull. I think people are clicking to opt into beta because they believe that doing so actually does something ENTIRELY different than what is really happening. The Beta option in Properties has been the cause of the Seagull problem when I trigger it. We must spread the word, alot of people are doing this VERY unintentionally like me. We just need to get the fix out there!
Winfernal 2 Posted March 12, 2013 It is fixed. You can't join servers that isn't running dev. build if you are running it.
