Crash after Resistance Mission "Hostages"

Like I say, after completing the mission I am rewarded with a debriefing screen showing a commendably high score, and, pressing on continue the game pauses briefly before crashing to desktop.

Whats that all about then? mad.gif

The CTD also happens with the single player Resistance mission "War Cry".

Help me out here! If I don't get Resistance running properly soon, I'm gonna have to spend more time talking to my wife wow.gifconfused.gif

Chop, chop.

Not sure if I missed it but did you include in that list your swapfile settings? If not what are they?

open the "OFPdirectory/flashpoint.rpt" file with notepad and post the last crash report, you can tell the last one by the time/date, it's at the bottom.

Just cut and paste here. Should be like 30 lines.

Pure Gibberish biggrin.gif

Swap files, eh? If you mean like Virtual memory then its been variously 600, 800mb and 2Gb and now I let Windows manage it. Desperation, you know tounge.gif

Well ti's not Gibberish....

That's a little strange, it looks like the last report is from Mon Jul 08 18wow.gif4wow.gif2 2002

It seems like there are dates missing from some crashes, and I got this once by replaying an older campaign mission without reverting. I doubt it but are you trying to repeat a mission that you already got credit for?

Each and every time. You see I complete the mission get debriefed get a huge score like 53840 or thereabouts and feeling v proud I click on continue. Thats when it crashes. I've done it so many times, I've even reverted and started fresh 3 times now.

3 times. No losses. biggrin.gif

But I can't get to the next misssion sad.gif

Have you tried uninstalling Res and Opf completely, removing all traces from your hard drive, install Opf and leave as 1.0 or 1.20 depending where you are, then install Res?

My Opf & Res are fresh installs and I've had no problems, not that it really means anything either way but worth trying, you can always copy and paste your user direc to somewhere else on your hard drive if you don't want to lose it smile.gif

I see, that's a different scenario then I had experienced.

At this point I have no more ideas... probably someone else has something to add here?

We can't leave this guy without Resistance! mad.gif

Oh, to double check, you are absolutely sure you have no extra files anywhere in your problematic OFP/OFPR?

If you have some addons (.pbo) in the wrong places, you may be experiencing problems. I assume you did a clean install after erasing all foreign files.

You can also check if all files are not read only, I don't know the exact effect of a read only campaign save, but it would not be good.

It is preferable that people don't post their rpt file. Most of the information is useless if you don't have the symbol table that was created at compilation time of OFP (to map memory addresses to actual functions and variables). Instead mail the crash report to support@bistudio.com and BIS will have a look at it.

The only "new" or non-original files I've got are a couple of self made kick-ass missions. Oh and Red Hammer.

Sigh... Time for a new install then. sad.gif

Goddammit!!!

Third reinstall, still no luck. mad.gif

I'm beginning to think there's a code problem with Resistance. Has anyone completed Hostages and moved on to the next mission yet?

People have spoken of completing it so it can't be a common problem.
