victim913 10 Posted March 9, 2013 Part of this has been a frustrating thing for me too. It's easy to get them to touch off the bombs. Thats my problem. How not to touch off bombs. Once the AI unit gets out of blast range they automatically detonate them. No matter what you tell them. Hold fire, stealth, neverfire, etc... Once out of blast range...boom! The only way I get around that is for him to place 2. He has to detonate both at same time. I use team switch and switch to him to place the bomb, then I get to cover where I want to put him and drop the second one, or drop it where another blufor, etc. is. He won't blow himself up and won't blow up anyone on the same side. Then switchh back to lead. When I want him to detonate it I either have him move out of range so he blows them, or when im ready to blow first one, I disarm the bomb in front of him, and when i switch out he detonates. So I don't waste explosives, I create a trigger that gives "player" 1 satchell charge. You can't pick them back up anymore. so i just give my self a new one just to keep him from blowing it. You might be able to select your guy and push 6 (i think) and see if there is an option to plant explosives. but i doubt it. One last thing. If there is no team switch, you can pick out of his pack or tell him to drop the explosives for you to pick up. Then place it yourself. I hope that helps a little. Select your unit by using the F2, etc keys, tell him to move where you want to place the charge, select your unit again and press the 6 key. Select the explosive charge you want to use. Select your unit again and tell him to regroup. When he is a safe distance away, select your unit again, press 6, then select touch off bomb. You can also deactivate explosives and pick them up, that includes AI. Also there doesnt appear to be pipebomb or timebomb in ARMA 3, the classnames are "satchelcharge_remote_mag" and "DemoCharge_Remote_Mag".
