Syonco 10 Posted March 8, 2013 With the RTT feature in, how come the scopes are still the same crappy 2d ones? Wouldn't it be possible to make 3d scopes now? I'll learn how and make em myself if it's possible lol it's such a needed feature.
DaRkL3AD3R 1 Posted March 9, 2013 If you played the Vehicles Showcase and noticed how choppy the RTT mirrors and guncam look, you'd quickly realize that it isn't ready for primetime as being used by a scope, just yet. We're talking 10 FPS cap at all times, significantly lower resolution, and lacking details. Not worth it, not yet. I'm sincerely hoping that in the next 10-15 years however we hit a serious breakthrough in gaming technology and things like refraction can be done properly so we can have TRUE proper scopes. How badass would that be!
johncage 30 Posted March 9, 2013 just mimick it using shader effects. red orchestra 2 already has the best 3d scopes available today. arma 3's engine is just way behind in terms of those features, it's better to explore its strengths and stop dwelling on the things that are, have been, and always will be hopeless. drunkenscoper 10 Posted March 10, 2013 I noticed that the RTT mirrors and video screens have a much faster refresh rate when you zoom in on them. Perhaps that could help?
thechaos 1 Posted March 10, 2013 There is come ticket about it: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=2510 I'm very like 3d optics in Red Orchestra 2 - it looks unique and very atmospheric.
