KnOrX 1 Posted March 7, 2013 Hey guys. I've got the problem that my friends cant join my hosted sessions. They always receive the message "connection failed". I already tried opening the default port in my router settings and also tried using different ports that are already opened for other games. Since my Internet and my PC in general is better performancewise it would be much better if I could host for my friends. If someone can help I'd much appreciate it. I already love this game and its not even in Beta yet. Thx in advance KnOrX

Carrydyret 1 Posted March 10, 2013 We have the same problem and it is the same in Arma 2 ... We do not usually have problems when we only are two, but as soon as we are 3 or 4 players, we have this constant problem. We have tried without Firewall, we use the same software version and etc, but nothing seems to work!!! So your not alone, and I hope there are a solution out there for this issue! VaeVictis 1 Posted April 10, 2013 We have the same problem. When I create server friends can join. When a friend creates a game, I see ping 2500, but I can join. A friend sees ping 16, but when he tries to join, the connection fails with a message: Connection failed We have tried development build, firewalls (windows and router) disabled, port forwarding, even DMZ. We also tried to change the port in game to a different than 2302. If anybody has any idea how to solve this, please let us know. Thank you very much for any idea or solution! We fixed the ping 2500 with running Steam as administrator. The problem with connection was resolved with using Google DNS (8.8.8.8.) or OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) and using only port range forwarding on router (2302-2316) and windows firewall (allow an app through a firewall - arma3), now we can all join and play normally! galzohar 31 Posted November 2, 2013 For me Hamachi seemed to be the only viable workaround. Or just repeatedly trying again until it finally works (I could not find any consistency with this problem - Other than the fact it was more likely to happen again once it happens, it seemed completely random, with people who try "hard enough" usually manage to join eventually, and once joined the game would work perfectly fine). Note that after you connect via Hamachi you will still have to connect in-game via pressing "remote" and entering the Hamachi IP address of the host. Otherwise it's just as if you didn't use Hamachi. Of course you'll also need to make sure you can ping his Hamachi IP with no issues, or else it still won't work as his firewall/antivirus is blocking Hamachi from functioning correctly. sprinkleslol 0 Posted August 4, 2015 FOR ARMA 3 (might work for others idk) For me I fixed this problem by firstly adding the ports as u do normally on both router + firewall (Is ofc important) secondly iam on windows 8.1 I went to control panel>system and sercurity>Windows firewall (allowed an app through Windows firewall) arma has 3.exe applications arma3battleye,arma3launcher and IMPORTANTLY arma3server which for me was not default enabled/allowed on windows firewall To add arma3server click change settings>allow another app search for ur arma3server.exe and add it to the lists make sure to tick both private and public boxes this fixed problem for after i had tired everything recommended so i hope i can help you :) oh and having to make an account to post almost put me off idea of posting my fix ;p regards sprinkleslol
