satchels and MP locality?

Recommended Posts

I'm all on my lonesome right now, so don't have any mates to test with. Perhaps someone might know the answer to this?

When a client player puts down a satchel (or one of my IED disruptors - same base class) does the object exist on the server?

Tests that I've done with just me in the server and running radio triggers (so they run on all clients and server) do seem to show the satchel exists on server as well.

Can anyone confirm?

Yes, otherwise a Hosted Server Player wouldn't see it.

Any object created with createVehicle or createUnit will exist in every machine, including the server, now a reference to it, that's a different tale.

Thanks, neo. I worried that this might be one of the idiosyncrasies of the RV engine given that

A) Satchels aren't created by createVehicle or similar command, but they are called into existence by a client. I worried there might be something odd about it.

B) I had to be convinced that the satchel is actually created specifically on a dedicated server. It appears it does.

Thanks again,

One isn't paranoid if they really are out to get you. :)
