infection 1 Posted February 8, 2013 As of today our server has been getting hacked and it causes the server to say out of memory and crash, I'm uncertain if it does this to everyone on the server aswell but I've never encounterd this kind of hack before so I'd like to know if anyone would be able to help me to catch whoever is doing it? If you want advice/ assistance/ help I suggest you post some server details, e.g. server version/ type/ os/ mods/ BE. Dwarden 1125 Posted February 9, 2013 it's sort of possible / easy to cripple server ... typical example is execution of script / functions which destroy everything on server (vehicles / buildings) such action would bring to knee any game server because the amount of updates cause stall in events and script execution in the end desync or freeze or crash ... Sorry our specs are as taken from our servers hosts website (this is a VDS) Intel Xeon CPU E5-2690 2.90 GHz 4096gb RAM 400GB raid protected storage 4000GB Internap bandwith Server version: 1.62 Type: We run takistan life atm OS: Windows server 2003 Mods: No mods. BE: I can't remember version but I know we run the latest update All I'd like is a way to find him in the scripts.txt so I can ban him and recently we've gotten people on our server that come on and start playing the campaign videos etc aswell, honestly any help you can give me would be much apprechiated. Nohau 1 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Had this happen to our server as well. Found someone sending code to the server that looked like the falling : if(isserver) vote 98*99 and it didn't show the rest but we banned the guy . Turn on publicvariables.txt as that is how they are sending it. Dwarden this was part of the crash info I sent you a few weeks back. What it does is causes the server to hange then it starts to just leak memory till it his roughly ~2.8 gigs which triggers the 32bit effect of binary just going OOM.
