cikamatko 1 Posted February 7, 2013 Hello. I have been playing Arma 2 free for a few weeks and I have encountered a problem. The game would freeze on me, sometimes 10 minutes in, sometimes more. I could hear the sound and move and everything, but the screen would be frozen, so I had to do the flush, which would take about 10 seconds, enough to get me killed sometimes. Yesterday I bought Arma 2: CO, because I love the game and also, because I thought It would actually work without me needing to do the flush. I was wrong. I have read about this problem a lot, and tried all kinds of solutions, but nothing worked. I presume it's because of my Nvidia, but I'm not sure. I tried lowering the settings, putting all kinds of parameters for the game, underclocking GPU, doing stress tests.. But nothing. I have: Intel i5 3350P 3.10GHz MSI GTX 660 OC 2GB 8GB Corsair DDR3 RAM 500W PSU I have no frame rate issues, just the freezing. And it's bothering me a lot. Do you have any ideas what I could try to do? Thank you for your time.
Gunter Severloh 4088 Posted February 7, 2013 Hi Welcome to BIS forums. Your 500W PSU is weak for the GPU you have, I think your graphics card is freezing your game because its overheating, cant say for sure but check the temps for your graphics card. Thanks for your response. I think it's not too weak, my voltages are stable and my temperatures also. :/ ---------- Post added at 11:39 ---------- Previous post was at 10:41 ---------- Thanks for your response.I think it's not too weak, my voltages are stable and my temperatures also. :/ Also, I forgot to mention I have windows 8. Though I've seen people have same problem on Win 7, maybe that could be the issue?

Gigabyte Core (Ivy Bridge) DRAM Controller 100MHz, 2x 4GB DIMM DDR3 1.33GHz 128-bit NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti (7CU 1344SP SM5.0 1.11GHz, 384kB L2, 2GB 6GHz 192-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Thermaltake 530 W plus Hamburg Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1) (bought brandnew a few days ago) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it really possible that 530 W to less? i will try what the guy above said and watch temperature when it freezes again but first i need a to find a tool for that :/ Strange is that it doesnt matter if i do graphic settings high or low fps are constant above 50 but still freezeing thanks a lot and excuse my broken english :) Edited February 14, 2013 by eXtreme36
