Bishop 1 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Hello, I hope I've chosen the correct location to post my thread. I finally got Arma 2 OA to run again, long process. Upon opening it, it FINALLY opens as Combined Ops from Steam. My issue is that when playing Combined Ops, the editor gives no option to edit in 2D, my understand is that saving a mission on 2D creates a pbo, saving a mission provided me with only my "chernarustest01.sqm' located in My Documents\Arma 2\Missions. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was using Arma 2 OA before (without running as combined ops from Steam as I didn't even know how to run as Combined Ops) in Arma 2 OA I was able to use the 2D Editor but only OA maps were in the mission list. [frl]myke 15 Posted February 5, 2013 "Save" saves the mission in a format that can be loaded later and continue working on it in the editor. Therefor the .sqm file format is how it should be. Once you're done with editing (or to MP test a Mission), chose "Export to..." and then either SP or MP. This will pack the mission into .pbo format and save it in the corresponding folder so it can be selected in SP/MP screens.

This has nothing to do with the 2D editor what so ever?
[frl]myke 15 Posted February 5, 2013 Hold a second, which editor do you mean? Start game -> Singleplayer -> Editor? The .sqm filename should usually always be named "mission.sqm" and be located in a subfolder inside the missions folder.
codarl 1 Posted February 5, 2013 To get a PBO, you must export a mission, meaning that you dont have the intention to edit it anymore. Exporting will take all your mission assets (scripts, sounds, etc), and turn it into a single file (a *.PBO) Should you feel the need to edit the mission, or edit a BIS mission, you can simply get an PBO tool, to change the PBO into a "mission folder" , containing all seporate mission assets, for example: -Mission.sqm (required) -Music score -Speech files -Camera scripts -Gameplay scripts and much more.
