eagledude4 3 Posted January 18, 2013 In my 0 LOD only, the steering column rotates along with the steering wheel. Comparing my volant selecting with a reference, my selection is the whole object, while the reference selection is just the points. If this is the reason, how do I choose just the points of the selection? Select points from faces doesn't seem to work.
max power 21 Posted January 19, 2013 That's not your problem. The problem is that your selection and the steering column share vertices. Make your steering wheel selection, then choose structure / topology / split. That should split what's in your steering wheel selection from what is not in your steering wheel selection. eagledude4 3 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Didn't work. it deselected a few lines, though. EDIT: I tried separating the steering wheel from the column, but they both rotate regardless if they're attached or not. rstratton 0 Posted January 19, 2013 make sure the steeringwheel is not attached to the column then delete the selection and re-create it with just the steeringwheel selected.

Then you probably have vertexes from the column still in the steering wheel named selection. You will have to remove them. The easiest way would be to select the steering wheel only and redefine the steering wheel named selection.
