Kicked from DayZ - Invalid GUID

Hello, reader.

Before I begin I apologise if this is the wrong section, however I looked for a DayZ section and found none. And seeing as DayZ launches with arma2oa.exe I posted here.

Anyway, I'm not a regular player of DayZ. It's been a few days and I try launching DayZ to join my friends who are playing on a new map. I'm being kicked and cannot even see the error message before being set back to the main menu screen. My friends in-game can see that I am being kicked for "Invalid GUID".

Is there a fix to this issue?

Do you know what is causing this issue?

My copy of Arma2 : Combined Operations was purchased through Steam.

Make sure you run all the Arma games at least once and ensure you run them as administrator.

Before you do what MrBradderzz said, you must first run Steam itself as administrator. Then do what he said.

Can you run the ArmA games on their own?

This is a troubleshooting forum for vanilla BI games only, not for mods. If you can run the ArmA games fine, then you should seek help on the DayZ forums.
