Hetzer 1 Posted December 28, 2012 Hello all. Yesterday I bought ARMA2 CO package version on internet store. I installed the 1st CD, and the installation was successful if im correct. However, when i tried starting the game, this error message showed up. C:\Windows\system32\X3DAudio1_6.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. I running the program with XP service pack 3 mode, but same error message showed up I believe this is because Windows7 64 bit has a DX 11 Version ? And i think i need DX 9 to run properly. I tried installing DX9 from microsoft page but didnt work I looked up the web to find the solution, but couldn't find any. I am not good at speaking or reading English so its almost impossible for me to go through millions of results on google... Can any of you help me ? I am really confused ... :|
Tankbuster 1747 Posted December 28, 2012 This is a common problem, one that I had when first installing the game in W764. You need to install DX9. Dont worry. DX9 and DX11 can live happily on the same machine. Make sure that you run the installer as administrator and it will all be fine.
Hetzer 1 Posted December 28, 2012 Thank you for your fast response. I tried installing DirectX 9 With Administrator option but it still gave me the same error. Im afraid that I had a wrong Installer maybe. Can you please post a link to download DirectX 9 on this thread ? I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience and my poor English. But it costed me 60$ to get this game, and i dont know why but i got a German Version, so i cant even read all the ReadMe files.... I just dont wanna say "Oh that was a bad luck" since this sim looks beautiful; ---------- Post added at 15:15 ---------- Previous post was at 14:47 ---------- I used this Link http://www.filehippo.com/download_directx/ I downloaded the file. Open is and it automatically extracted the files. Then i ran the DESETUP application as administrator. Installation was successively done but i still had the same error message... Horus 83 Posted December 31, 2012 Use web installer and after update DirectX run sfc /scannow command to check system files because you maybe screwed something when you try to uninstall/delete DX11
