Sakowski 1 Posted December 26, 2012 (edited) Hey there! So I have a little annoying problem specially when playing on "big custom maps" well I've wrote some posts in the island like Lingor but the creator said it has nothing to do with Lingor but other maps are good so I decided to write a topic in Troubleshooting section, here is what I mean by smudged out textures: Lingor Now you see in here Textures are all screwed up even up close, its all smudged out but on Utes its all good Utes: I do understand that Utes is not huge as Lingor so Utes might not have anything like that but what about Chernarus and Takistan? Chernarus: Edited December 26, 2012 by Sakowski
Sakowski 1 Posted December 26, 2012 (edited) Sorry for second post couldnt put all images in one! I hope mods will understand. Takistan: My settings: My computer specifications: AMD Phenom II X4 3.2GHz GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 Direct CU 8GB GeLI I always use those settings, I record with those settings as well ((but quality is lowered down, the magic of rendering)) and when recording even so my FPS is on 30 and not going down. What im trying to get into is that on Lingor all textures are f'ed up, smudged out like everything in the settings would of be on lowest but they aint, as I said I wrote in the Lingor Topic but creator told me that its not the island fault, than what is the fault? On Chernarus or Takistan the textures are all good and not smudged out like on Lingor. Edited December 26, 2012 by Sakowski
-=seany=- 5 Posted December 26, 2012 Maybe try with ATOC off. It could have conflicts with user made islands. Just a guess, but no harm in trying. Also, you could turn up Anisotropic filtering to it's highest. That will sharpen up the textures a bit more. You could even force it higher by going into nvidia control panel and setting it to x16. It will cause no FPS loss on your hardware. It's also worth noting FXAA adds a slight bit of blur to textures, I don't think that is the cause, but it all adds up. Finally, I personally prefer to set 3D Resolution and Interface Resolution to the same as my monitors native resolution. I find this gives the best clarity. Sakowski 1 Posted December 26, 2012 Finally, I personally prefer to set 3D Resolution and Interface Resolution to the same as my monitors native resolution. I find this gives the best clarity. The reason why I use 1280X720 is due recording, if I set it to any higher the outcome will be a file of size 20GB in around 1-2 min ((dxtory)) that would of be 1920x1080 but anyways I will try those parts you told me. Jastreb 69 Posted December 26, 2012 That. If I run on any other resoultion than monitor native I get even worse results. Smudges, blur, pixelation....some of them. For FXAA try FXAA Sharp filter, it helps a lot. Finally, I personally prefer to set 3D Resolution and Interface Resolution to the same as my monitors native resolution. Edit: As for recording ( ninjad ) try using MSI Afterburner, its pretty good and it can record in 720p no matter which res you run on, plus has various codecs to choose from. -=seany=- 5 Posted December 26, 2012 One other note, not really related but handy to know. If you set the Shadow setting to Low or Normal, shadows will be rendered by the CPU. If you set Shadows to High or Very High, they will be rendered by the GPU. (you should definitely use one of these)
Sakowski 1 Posted December 26, 2012 with all those settings as recommended non helped with the smudged out textures sadly :( ((GPU temperature only 30 degrees when playing :( I thought it would of be higher lol)) + FXAA Sharp filter - lol it makes the game look like cartoon style game xd
pako 1 Posted December 26, 2012 hi. I have almost the same problem with smudged textures. All units (men, vehicles, armored, etc...) and weapons of BAF, PMC and ACR appears with smudged textures. All other units are OK. Really dont know what to do (I tried all recommended settings and nothing changes). So what now?
