How do i make npcs, walk a certain root. also how do i get them out of my group

i have civilians but because my main character is one too he keeps running towards me all the time... how do i change it. and how do i make him walk a certain root also... and continuously.

Hi jimb133,

From what Im understanding is you put down civilian AI and they automatically grouped to your player character, or yo put down a civilian group.

What you need to do is ungroup the AI civilians by

In the editor (singleplayer-->editor-->map-->mission)

1. pressing F2 to go to groups

2. What you should see when civilians are attached to your character also known as grouped, is a thin real lite blueish line attached from them to you

3. hold your left mouse button down over a civilian and drag the mouse cursor away from them and release the button, this will detach that line

you can also hold the mouse cursor over your character and it will do the same.

and how do i make him walk a certain root also... and continuously.

Root you mean route or path that is followed, in the game we call it waypoints, but once the civilian attached to you is now unattached using the method above:

1. press F4 to go to waypoints

2. click on the civilian that you want to have move somewhere, his icon should lite up (highlight)

3. then doubleclick somewhere on the map a little bit away from him, and a window should popup, just hit enter to close it, it will by default put down a move waypoint.

to make the AI move continuously you want what exactly, to roam around a village?
