xxmandingoxx 1 Posted December 8, 2012 Model: MI424-WR Hardware: C Firmware: 4.0.16.1.56.0.10.14.4 Arma2 Dedicated server issues I have set up port forwarding for ports 2300-2400 UDP, even tried DMZ host, turned router firewall off and to accept all packets and not use SPI my computer has a static IP now. But the ports still arent open. people can join my server and play in it but it isnt listed under www.gametracker.com, and i cant use Arma2RCoN to log onto my server, i do have the server.cfg set up correctly i already went through that whole ordeal on another website and i have tried other ports but cant find any that are open and unused. also since i am using verizon FIOS i cannot bypass the router cause the source is a coax cable. Other notes: No software firewall Windows 7 Turned off windows defender / firewall Opened ports 2300-2400 as UDP and TCP After I opened those ports it went from saying "connection timed out" to "connection refused" on canyouseeme(dot)org Could really use some help on this issue as I contacted Verizon support, Actiontec (router), and Microsoft and they were of no help they each blamed a different party, hoping you all have some suggestions for me
larsiano 12 Posted December 8, 2012 -Frist make sure your server profile is loaded right to change the servername < maybe you’re looking for the wrong server name (system name will be used without profile) -Also DMZ only works on a certain port of the router (usually this is port 1 only). And maybe you need to port trigger the ports and not forward them, some routers prefer this. Also make sure no other app uses these ports in the router (each port can only be listed once). For A2 you only need UDP ports! For info on servers this is the mostly used guide: http://www.kellys-heroes.eu/files/tutorials/dedicated/

For info on servers this is the mostly used guide: http://www.kellys-heroes.eu/files/tutorials/dedicated/ server Profile is loaded correctly other people see the server listed as -=John Connor's Chernarus Life=- as can i under server browser, but its not listed at gametracker.com or other like sites. went ahead and set port fowarding to UDP only still didnt work, Triggered the ports instead of fowarded, still no luck, made sure nothing else was using that port. Last thing i tried was foward and trigger that didnt work either. checked canyouseeme.org again and the ports are still refused. the biggest problem is that i will have 40 people in my server and i cant ban (yes i have the ban.txt in the arma 2 directory) have to constanly kick them over and over im hoping when i load up ArmaRCoN i will be able to ban users aswell. but thank you for your reply i was happy to try some new things today instead of the same old things

xxmandingoxx 1 Posted December 9, 2012 whta you got under:reportingIP="arma2pc.master.gamespy.com"; reportingIP="arma2oapc.master.gamespy.com"; Your server is Arma2 standalone = nr1 right? my Arma2 is from steam the server is from steam tools (should have mentioned this earlier) and my reporting ip is reportingIP="arma2pc.master.gamespy.com";
mousetrap 10 Posted December 9, 2012 my Arma2 is from steam the server is from steam tools (should have mentioned this earlier)and my reporting ip is reportingIP="arma2pc.master.gamespy.com"; I Think for Game Tracker you need to temporarily rename your server to hostname="GameTrackerClaimServer"; till they scan it or whatever. t0t3m 1 Posted December 9, 2012 Hi, some times ago i wrote this thread to effectively check udp port forwarding problems (most of online web portscanners check tcp ports only), try to do what is written in the guide with a friend's help, if that cannot solve your problem try to reset your router to factory settings and reconfigure it (take a settings backup before)
