doveman 7 Posted November 17, 2012 I read a post suggesting that I need to set my soundcard (Realtek) control panel to 16bit/44.1khz to make the sound work properly in A2/OA. Is this still the case or will it work fine whatever this is set to?
kklownboy 43 Posted November 18, 2012 I would guess its not a issue. On my old X-Fi i use 24bit and 192000hz(5.1 surround), with 128 sample chosen in the in-game options.Should be easy enough to test the different bit/hz in game.
doveman 7 Posted November 18, 2012 That's cool then, thanks. Not always easy to test when you're not sure what it should sound like ;)
kklownboy 43 Posted November 18, 2012 well some Snd mods have better Ambient to test, but I use JSRS, but really like SOA and others. The amount of samples in game is the big deal. If your on a new Realtek snd chip(last three years?) you should be able to max it out
doveman 7 Posted November 18, 2012 Yeah, I use JSRS and sometime SOS and RH_Heli_Sound too. I've not noticed any specific problems with it set to 128 samples with my ALC892 chip.
