Lolwhowtf 1 Posted November 16, 2012 Hey, recently I bought Arma 2 OA as my brother has clocked nearly 1k hours on it, I thought i'll join him. But as on connecting to hte same servers as him Both, or one of us get "no message received" and slowly start disconnecting. We both got the game of steam, I would like to know if anyone has any idea on how to solve this? I found one solution but I'm unsure on how to do it, so if anyone could tell me that it'll be very much helpful. To get around this, modify your ArmA2 shortcuts and add " -port=2350" to one of the computers. The number doesn't really matter, just as long as it's different from the other computers which will use 2302, 2304, 2305 by default. This will change the client port (though it's not documented) and allow you to connect to Internet servers. Well, at least it should ;-), I'm unsure how to edit the shortcut. I do apologize if I posted this in the wrong forums.
larsiano 12 Posted November 27, 2012 This has caused no problems for other players on our servers in the past that come from the same IP. Not sure if this is network, game or system related? But it sounds like either server problem (big database after days of running) or a network issue (bad cables or slow router). -A port number is only used by a incoming transmission and therefore not by clients but only servers use this. -Make sure both systems are up-to-date and also ArmA2 is patched up completely -try to connect not both at once but one at a time: ArmA2 has some network drops if multiple users connect -try updating all systems drivers including the network firmware and NIC drivers -test on other server? -also make sure you didn't by accident both use the same key... SnowSky 12 Posted November 28, 2012 Eeeeo, and welcome to the forums! I had a router "A", and I hosted sometimes a mission on my computer. I did a port forward to my computer so that hosting over inet works. When I set the port forward rule, others were able to join me, but when I wanted to join ANY other server, it didn't work anymore (got also a Message by ArmA directing the error to a possible nat error) (I have to mention too that this happened only to the computer for which the port forward rule was set. The other computer was still able to connect to other servers). When I removed the port forward, I was able to join other servers again. I was asking myself what the fuqq happened. Weeeell... at that time we changed the provider already quite a time, for that reason I had to use another router. So I went to my girlfriend, she has the same provider I had before. Everything build up, and tested and worked with port forward rule set etc. . Long story short: If you can use another router, perhaps you might try it. Sure, our problems are not equal, but it might be a try worth (perhaps a friend gives you his router for a day?)
