Vertex Alpha in game..?

Hi all,

uber quick question here...

Is it possible to paint vertex alpha onto vertices in 3D software, to have it translate over to ingame assets..? So for instance to blend a texture out from 100% on vert A then to 0% on vert B..? Fading curtains etc...

quick answer: no

long answer: i really don't understand why you would need to have it this way. For transparency, you can create a _ca texture with an alpha chnl. For blending materials, you can bake such textures. It has been a very long time since i have used vertex painting technique. (i am not talking about weighting here).

We use them at work but it's mobile stuff so it's all pretty low level... manually manipulating vertex normals and baking ao to vertices and stuff... But I don't think the RV engine supports vertex colour blending of any kind.
