Renegade 0 Posted July 2, 2002 The volume of the A10 on flyover and also the sound of a nearby tank is really crap. Even a shot of my M16 is louder! Â I want to get shocked when hearing the screaming sound of the A10 that flies over my head or the enemy T72 that drives in front of a building that I'm in. So, I changed the volume of the A10 sound in the config.cpp. Then I normalized and amplified the .WSS soundfile. WOW! Not even perfect but a 100-times better than in the original game. But now I got a problem. The Sound in 3rd person view (e. g. when looking up to a flying A10) is great! But... when flying the A10 in 1st person view the pilot will become deaf! Â Is there a way to define a vehicles sound for "in vehicle" (drivers/gunners/cargos/commanders/pilots view) and "out of vehicle" (3rd Person)? by the way: is there a way to change a posts caption after submitting? I wanted to change the "on" to a "one"! Huh? who changed the caption of my post?
Jester983 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Just hit Edit again. There is a volume control on your speakers you know....but i hope you get that all sorted out cause we all hate the pop gun noises from the m16.
MDRZulu 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Try this... download the Dynamic Range sound addon by Satchel and it will make the game much more enjoyable. Dont ask me but it works like magic or something.
Wright 0 Posted July 3, 2002 Renegade, Sadly there is no way I know of to define two seperate sounds for in and out of vehicles. I've noticed that different vehicles have different amounts of sound insulation when you are in first person mode or third person driving your vehicle. I would imagine this is either hardcoded into the engine or model, or is in the config somewhere. Also, if you just wanted to amplify sounds, I would imagine that you could just amplify the sound itself and not mess with the config which leads to accusation of cheating when in multiplayer. Good luck! By the way, I also have some sound addons that will replace your sound.pbo without messing with the config, and it'll give you a nice improvement over the stock sounds. MHSJROTTCADET 0 Posted July 3, 2002 just a note of realism here The A-10 is not really that loud in real life, I've seen many a Thunderbolt in an airshow. and they are a lot quiter then most planes out there. The Iraqi's nicknamed them whispering death for that reason

Vinsen 0 Posted July 3, 2002 Being an airshow nut but not having fired an M16, I would imagine that shooting a rifle next to your ear would be louder than even an F16 on reheat. Which IMO is the loudest plane I have heard (apart from maybe Concorde). I think that the problem is that the ingame gun sounds weak and doesn't sound like it should be louder. Try Satchels soundpack or the new one for resistance in this forum.
Baztard1984 0 Posted July 3, 2002 Dont suppose you'd like to divuldge the whereabouts of that particular resistance sound add on, as I've been looking for it since the previous post was made and I've still had zero joy... Thanks.

Placebo 29 Posted July 3, 2002 Almost if not indeed a racist comment, watch what you say in future.
Baztard1984 0 Posted July 3, 2002 RACIST? How is that racist? There is no reference to the colour of their skin, culture or religieon. Many Iraqi troops wore cloth coverings over their head to protect them from sand storms and the heat. But If you consider it to be racist, fair enough. You're the Mod. Sorry if anyone took offence by that, can't see how though. No different from calling a german a Jerry with reference to WW2 and that seems pretty socially acceptable. Placebo 29 Posted July 3, 2002 For one it's not a rag, without looking it up I don't know the correct term but as it's a religious garment it's most certainly not a rag. For two the term "raghead" is a derogatory term for a muslim, your post came very close to calling them that which is why the warning.
