1,75 directplay on a 1,49 dedic?

Hi

I run a 1,49 Dedic for our clan. All are going to uppgrade to resistence, but the shipping times varies widely even within Sweden. We have Caln match scheduled for tomorrow the 3rd of july.

Now to my question.

I cant connect with 1,75 to the 1,49 dispite change of ports and using Direct Play? Can I change the 1,49 setting to accept 1,75? Can I change 1,75 so I can connect to 1,49?

I can understand the business-model reasons why not supporting forward compatibility, with add-ons, but backward?

Hej Dan,

Can't you connect to the 1.49 server with the old EXE-file (i.e OPERATIONFLASHPOINT.EXE)?

I do not have OFP:R yet but I was under the impression that the original OFP was still available and unchanged but maybe I'm missing something?

Hey Christer,

You're absolutely right!

You still can start the old OFP-Client, only thing to do before is putting the old OFP-CD into the CD-ROM to play!

Yesterday, I tried to connect to our 1.49 Clanserver with 1.75 Resistance. Got an error message saying "Wrong Version. Server rejected connect." (or something like that).

But it definitely works with the old game.exe!

keycat is rightm u can run normal ofp 1.46 even thoe you have upgraded to 1.75 through Resistance. Resistance is a new exe.
