Arma: CO blocky/no textures bug

Hello everyone. I have recently bought Arma: CO off of steam and cannot play it due to a game breaking bug. I cant read any of the text on the menu because it is nothing but black and white blocks. In addition, if I make it into a scenario, everything is blocky to the point of looking like n64 graphics, and text is unreadble.

I understand a lot of other people have had this problem (windows 7 64 bit) and have read several other threads on this but every solution mentioned in the other threads has not worked.

I have tried:

-Updating video card drivers

-Rolling back video card drivers to an older one

-Running in compatibility mode with WinXP SP2

-limiting memory usage by setting one of the launch parameters as "-maxmem=1024" (My system has 6gb of system memory)

-Manually applying the 1.18 patch

Nothing is working, and I would really like to play this game. I know my computer is more than capable of running this game because it plays Arma 2: Combined Ops on Medium Settings with a smooth framerate. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Yeah i have same problem than you. also bought from steam and i have windows 7 (64Bit). Its strange becose i had demo (not from steam) and it worked perfect, thats why i bought full version:yay:

Is there any solution for this?

Downloaded a version from the net and I have the same issue. I too am running Win 7 64-bit.

we should all contact steam i mean theres thousands of posts everywere about these thing and theres people with like super computwho also get this so steam should give us our monry back to all

I have purchase gold edition on bis store, it's a CD and i have the same problem :S
