Azz 0 Posted June 30, 2002 First off this is my system.... P4 1.8 Gig Processor GeForce 2 MX400 64mb Graphics Card 256mb Ram Windows XP Operating System Now in the game it seems to run ok on most parts...but on occastion it freezes for a few seconds and the sound repeats the same few seconds too over and over untill it un-freezes same happens when im leaving and enterling from game screens and menus and toaday i timed it and it took 5 minutes to shut down after i clicked exit...had just finished campaign changing the graphics settings dosent seem to help that much... but im not sure I am hoping it is a sound releated problem so i can keep my graphics high When i do autodetect everything in textures is max apart friom special effects is at 64x64 and auto drop down is at 4 my CPU benchmark is 3685 Changing any graphics settings in the game freezes it up sometimes too so im wondering how can I Speed it up on the menus and such and loading games... and stop it freezing can anyone help ? I hope i have explained well enough

Placebo 29 Posted June 30, 2002 Don't worry bout it, lot of people are getting a bit confused at the moment, tis why we have mods Is your ram sdram? Cos AFAIK 256mb is the bare minimum for XP, what size is your swapfile set to? I have a 1.2ghz amd oc'd to 1.3, 512 pc133 sdram, 64mb Kyro2 and I don't have any stutter so far. But then because of my gfx card I'm running at 1024x768, normal ground FPS to left so it looks pretty, detail to right, view distance 900 I think

Placebo 29 Posted July 1, 2002 Ahh I remember those days, not too long ago, be sure to get the latest mobo bios, agp drive, via 4-1 driver if applicable Also is XP a fresh install or have you tweaked it to get rid of all the cloggy shit that's turned on as default? And running out of memory could cause OFP or OFP:R to not be able to allocate buffers for new sounds and play them over and over, or crash.

Placebo 29 Posted July 1, 2002 A lot of crap to throw at you all in one go If you can handle more here's some url's to XP tweaking sites I have in my favourites, I've found them very handy Tweak XP Windows XP Home and Professional Service Configurations xptuneup Obviously you need to be careful you don't break anything, but I've followed the advice of Tweakxp.com in the past and had no problems

It won't do anything bad to your system other than possibly use up more disk space.
Azz 0 Posted July 1, 2002 Well Setting Pagefile to 1gb space Getting Crucial Updates from windows Site and latest graphics card driver and also turning my max ram in preferences down to 128mb seems to of helped a substantial amount. in the frame rate area so the graphics arent perfect... but you dont notice it too much when playing and i used to play on a laptop with 128mb ram and 4mb graphics card so i should count myself lucky... im going to update my sound drivers and see about anyother things i can update to help and when i get some cash invest in more RAM... But untill then thanks a lot guys... Hope to put a bullet in you sometime soon.
