Like there is so much you can do for entertainment with 37 cents! LOL. You can write a ten page letter to a friend and mail it for 37 cents. And they can be on the other side of the country! And the price doesnt change. It's a pretty decent deal, even at 37 cents...or about 1/10th of the price of what you likely spend at Starbucks when you stop for a mochachino or some other trendy coffee drink.. And yes, there is email, but dont even get me started on that. Some of our best glimpses of everyday life in history is from the letters people wrote. What will people see of us in 500 years... after all, email is pretty damn ephemeral. And if you want to claim 'they'll read it off of a CD we make' well, CD's dont last forever, and there are formats from 15 years ago that cannot be read by any machines today. Email and IM is great...but...it's hardly something of permanance. So hen you want to catch up with an old friend... send a letter.

advocatexxx 0 Posted June 30, 2002 Didn't they just raise the rates a year ago ? If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't even know about this rate change. You think they'd mail a postcard letting you know.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 30, 2002 Oh stop bitching. Its about time they actually made a real raise in price, instead of these pansy ass 1 cent hikes. And it aint all that big a deal, if it was I wouldve gotten an Email about it
