DenDron 1 Posted October 4, 2012 Hello, I have ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead bought via Steam and I always installed Beta patches from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php but today I noticed I have new entry that I can install at Steam's library called: "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta" and I can't find anywhere information about it. Is it same as patches I download from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php or something totally different? Different build etc? Any info about it and what are changes? maddogx 13 Posted October 4, 2012 Ooh, sounds like they're opening up a beta deployment channel directly through Steam. Presumably this means your Steam installation will always remain up-to-date with the latest beta release and update automatically.
Dwarden 1125 Posted October 4, 2012 exactly, it's to allow normal users to use beta with STEAMoverlay 'easily' also it's used for us to test some direct deployment stuff

Can I ask just one more question: for people who play mods like DayZ and similar is it better to use "old" way of installing Beta patches or via Steam? Or is it the same? Dwarden 1125 Posted October 5, 2012 it's nearly the same, atm. STEAM distribution of OA beta is missing the BattlEye installer for OA beta, will be added probably within day(s)
punisherITA 1 Posted October 14, 2012 What does the "Test-" option in Arma 2: OA Beta (Steam) ->"Beta" tab mean? Should we partecipate to have the latest release (e.g. for Dayz) or not? Thanks.
