Players kicked while joining...

Not even sure what to search on here because the problem I am having is not global. I run a dedicated using TA2DST. My friends and I connect just fine, I leave the server open to the public so that we can get additional players in. A fair amount of the time pubs that join are instantly disconnected. There is no indication that it is Battleye or anything else. Just [player's name] connecting, [player's name] connected, [player's name] disconnected.

I do require the latest ArmA2 build in the server setup as I would rather that everyone is playing with the same deck of cards. This server runs vanilla ArmA II, no mods except for the DLL which I understand improves networking stability.

Is it simply a matter of requiring a particular build? If I take that requirement off, what NEGATIVE might I expect to happen if anything? Is it something else entirely?

Yer i wrote that other thread and still have the problem with no clue to whats going on.

Its so damn annoing to se players getting disconnected from server without a single trace

in any logs to why. Many servers are in great need of players atm.

Dorph, are you forcing latest build? Are you using the DLL in the mods tab? Do you verify signatures and kick duplicates?

a) please post your server.cfg

b) quite some players tend to disconnect quickly again - like when they notice the server being empty AFTER joining

kick dublicate are not in my server.cfg - i suppose that means disabled.

What do you mean by "using dll in mods tab" ??

I do expect if clients gets kicked for a mod/signature that is not allowed by my server, it will be written in the server console - or ??

It ain't empty PvP.... That's the problem there are 4 or 5 of us in. I've seen people try multiple times to join without luck. My core group has no issues.

@ [HUD]Dorph : I've just made 2 attempt to join your server, one with unauthorised mod, got rejected by the server, and another just with beta patch, got in it. Check your log and tell us.

Nothing in there about you trying to join with unauthorized mod - wonder why, seem to remember that i

always could see which mods clients got kicked for.

PvPscene thx for suggestion on regularcheck. Think i disabled it way back when it caused troubles, back to

enabled now.

Dont think vonCodecQuality=20; should get nonbeta clients kicked, but to be sure i think ill bypass it till its

in final patch.

No info to the server (server owner) about whats going on, only that a client have tried to connect

and were rejected.

While the client gets the excact reason on which file (the addon) that was rejected.

Files"c:games\arma 2\@mod\addons\mod are not asigned by a key accepted by this server.

Think this info would be of great value to server-operators too. But at least Lawndartleo the conclusion

must be that the many to us unknown disconnects, must be clients with mods not accepted by server.

Wish i had an old serverlog as im pretty sure that the info given to client ealier also was written in server.log.
