Trulz 1 Posted September 22, 2012 Hey, I've got a problem with my/my clan's server. We have 8 gb of RAM installed and allocated 2gb of RAM to ArmA. It's all good if we play with about 4 - 10 guys on our server but as soon as more people join it starts lagging really bad. When I use the "#monitor 5" command, it says that ArmA just uses 545 mb of RAM. Is there anyway to "order" ArmA to use more RAM or is there a parameter somewhere where I can enable the usage of more RAM? Is there any known solution to that problem? P.S.: I'm not a native speaker so please excuse any of my grammar/spelling mistakes. Greetings, Trulz
Nicholas 5 Posted September 23, 2012 I'm not familiar with ArmA servers and exactly how they operate, but what kind of CPU is in your server?
Trulz 1 Posted September 23, 2012 I have to correct myself. It's 16 GBs of RAM instead of 8. Here are the server's stats: Processor: Intel® Xeon® E3-1245 Quad-Core w/ Hyper-Threading RAM:16 GB DDR3 RAM ECC HDD: 2 x 3 TB SATA 6 Gb/s HDD 7200 rpm (Software-RAID 1) Networkcard: 1 GBit OnBoard (100Mbps Ethernet connection) OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition
rufor 1 Posted September 23, 2012 It should NEVER use more then 1.5Gb, once it gets to 1.5GB the server starts choking. If it gets to 1.4 restart.
Trulz 1 Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Well, it doesn't even go near that mark. It's just around 500 mb. No matter how much players are on it, it stays around that mark. As I mentioned before, we have allocated the maximum of 2047 mb for it. Edited September 23, 2012 by Trulz
