RE: Have ARMA 2: OA Key, how do I use it?

Recommended Posts

My friend opened the thread " Have ARMA 2: OA Key, how do I use it? " located here:forums .bistudio. com/showthread.php?138974-Have-ARMA-2-OA-Key-how-do-I-use-it

it was closed.

I'm the friend who gave him the key, it is from GameStop and was a birthday gift - I already own the steam version though. I sent him the key and told him to try it on Steam (he said the key did not work for steam, i didn't want to risk claiming it to test)

The simple question was how can he get the game to apply the key - WE ARE INTERNET FRIENDS, i dont live near him (at least i dont think? he hasn't given me his address)

This forum is IMPOSSIBLE to register to or interact with >.>, and you are all apparently pretty rude, so I'm going to try to make this one post informative so I can go away in peace.

He is entirely against piracy (I told him to pirate the ISO, because the key is what matters not the software anyways) but he won't because he is worried about viruses. Give the man a hand and offer some insight on how to get the game.

Pufu said "get the game files from your friend" - I can't upload 8gb on my 35kb/s upload. why dont you upload it on your assumed godly internet speed for him?

I'm pretty annoyed that my friend came here for legitimate help and the first thing you do is accuse him of stealing.

I apologize for having to open a new thread for this, but it was closed on an assumption of piracy or online reseller, wanted to clear that up

Just reviewed the thread, he was never accused of pirating. What he was told (as we see it often in here) that if the key was bought from a key reseller, then he (or you for that matter) probably wasted his (your) money as there are no legit key reseller for BI games.

It might be oldschool but there is still the way of sending it via offline mail...DHL, UPS...you pick what's available at your place.

Well, what goes around, comes around.

Don't slap your nose on the doorway on your way out.

To add to this situation:

it is from GameStop ............................................... I already own the steam version though.

Well, the solution is right under your nose (which of course when you already hit the door might have left you unable to see down). Give your friend acces to your gamestop account and have him download the files from there.

Issue solved, you happy, your friend happy and BI happy with another legit customer.

He is entirely against piracy (I told him to pirate the ISO, because the key is what matters not the software anyways)

And to also add, no you're wrong, the software also matters, if a key is distributed without a legitimate installation method then it's not a legal distribution of our games and we will not offer any kind of support for such instances.
