Update 1.62 problem with vista???? help!

i have vista os and the arma2 oa with 1.60 patch play fine...... when i update to 1.62 the exe (both armaoaserver and armaoa ) crash after the doubleclick.... i try to run with compatibility win xp sp2 (the same thing) . i have 2 pcs with vista and on both i get same crash. i have 1 xp pc and there is no problem...

something with vista????????? is there a fix for vista?

Try the following:

1. If you have the otk "no blur" addon installed (even if you don't run it!), make sure you update it to the 1.62 compatibility version, or else it will crash your game.

2. Remove all ACRE related files if you have it installed (even if you don't run it!). There is a dsound.dll file that makes the 1.62 version crash (maybe I got the exact file name wrong)

3. Delete all your old shortcuts and create them again from scratch.

1st ... what is otk "no blur" addons?

2nd ..1.62 in xp and win 7(with compatibility xp3) working fine. in vista is the problem...

i have arma2 oa ,ace and acre but i dont use acre right now. i dont have shortcuts (i use arma lancher) in a few hours i upload the exe crash error popup from vista...

Did you delete the dsound.dll as Variable (Quote: "There is a dsound.dll file that makes the 1.62 version crash") said?

It doesn't matter not using the mod, as it is located directly in your arma folder.

Edit: I saw your Post in another thread to late (relating dsound.dll).

Another question - do you really have to start in compatibility mode in Win 7 I don't have to on my Win 7 HP 64bit with SP1

Disable any mods you have.

Don't use compatability mode. (Tried and crashes for me too)

Put -winxp in startup line instead

ok solved.......i rename the dsound.dll and working.... this happened only in my vista........... on win7 and winxp pro the dsound.dll is there and the game opens.....
