I am using version 1.46.<span id='postcolor'> There have been some changes to the sound code in Resistance and for the upcoming patch to deal with the incorrect implementation of sound ramping in the Creative Labs drivers. This should fix the loud footsteps bug. As far as other problems are concerned, what are your system specs? What OS, sound card, drivers etc. are you using? Duke_of_Ray 0 Posted June 23, 2002 I am using ME, 800mhz, 256ram, I think ESS Solo is my sound card, and by drivers do you mean like nividia tnt2? It says my main driver is nvdisp.drv.
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 24, 2002 No, I meant the driver version for your sound card. You may want to download the latest drivers for your operating system from ESS Technology to see if that makes a difference -- if you never updated your audio drivers, this will probably fix a boatload of problems you may or may not know about. Duke_of_Ray 0 Posted June 24, 2002 Which drivers would I download? There are 2-3 different audio drivers. I am using ME also.
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 24, 2002 Sorry, I can't help you there -- you'll have to identify the correct model yourself. Try going into the Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager and see if there is a model number associated with the sound card in the Properties page. ale2999 0 Posted June 25, 2002 Mr frag is the man I dont have a stutter, but from some days ago, I realised that certain sounds are almost inaudible. They were fine a week ago, but this week I try turning on sound hardware acceleration to see what it was. For example, the m16 sound would be normal in single shot mode, and really quiet in burst mode, or when I'd be driving the chopper I would sometine not hear the sound of the chopper at all. The wierd thing is that at moment I can hear sounds probably and at other momnet not. The volume is good both in game and in system. I tried taking the Hardware acceleration off, but I was in game thats why maaybe it didnt make a difference. Could my installation be corrupted by now? Could it be some addon. that I have? (I dont have any sound addon installed @ the moment) Ty alot. I repeat that before all sounds were correct. My pc specs r : P3 1.1 gz, win XP 512 of ram geforce 4 mx 420 on board video card : CMI8738/C3DX PCI ty
Duke_of_Ray 0 Posted June 26, 2002 Thanks for all the help, but now my the entire sound of my pc is gone!
cpl_BOB 0 Posted June 26, 2002 ok, UNINSTALL your current Audio drivers, (soundcard) then restart comp, Now if your computer doesnt Prompt you go to add/remove Hardware in control panel, hopefully your soundcard will be detected. when detected, select browse for driver and click on the drivers you downloaded from the Web-site. Then install. Second way, if the drivers you downloaded came in an AUTO Installer, then just install them and reboot.!!
