Have enemy AI speak English as well...

Recommended Posts

Hello Folks,

I'm trying to setup a scenario wherein US forces are engaging mercenaries who also speak English.

My main problem, of course, is I don't know how to achieve this. Most mercs are assigned to Blue, and if I group the Blue units to an Opfor one, then those mercs will speak the language of whomever I grouped them to, which means that they won't speak English.

I've even tried Clayman's additional units mod, and as easy as it makes it to assign Blue units to Opfor ones, and vice versa, they too will speak a non-English language.

I've searched for scripts as well, and I haven't had any luck.

Any suggestions?

The mercenaries from the PMC DLC speak English. They're set as Independent so you'll have to change them to be hostile to BLUFOR.

Another way, is if you're using addon mercenaries, is to go into the addon file and change the configs.

Hi Kyle

Dynamic Sound AI (RUG DSAI) would be your answer, this of course is already in COWarMod.

Why it would be your answer?

Because it is customizable which means you can make certain factions speak certain languages.

Heres the mod:

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6092

already in CoWarmod if your playing with it, which i know you have it, but to further expand on what I was saying review this page:

RUG DSAI

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/RUG_DSAI

just to quote from under the settings on that page:

This array can pre-determine what sides should have what language assigned to them. The order is as follows:

 [EAST, WEST, GUER, CIV, sideEnemy]. The string should correspond to the name of the language (which currently corresponds exactly to the name of the .pbo, minus the extension). An example setup could be : RUG_DSAI_SIDES = [ "RUG_DSAIArab", "RUG_DSAIENG", "RUG_DSAISpa", "RUG_DSAISpa", "RUG_DSAIRus" ];

So basically you can assign a language to a unit, or a group.

Hope that helps.

I can't comprehend just how much of this stuff you have memorized Gunter!

Thanks for coming through for me again. How SWEET it is to know that there's a mod out there that does exactly what I'd like to do.

Lol, ya man, When you work with the same mods since 2009 and have to constantly review them because folks keep asking you questions,

you become very familiar with them.

But glad I could help. have fun.
