jonesy96 10 Posted July 21, 2012 (edited) I am almost guaranteed its not my pc but it could be. I know my pc can run this game because I played it quite often for a while but i recently uninstalled it. So today I decided to reinstall it because I wanted to give DayZ a try. So I reinstalled it decided to play it a little before installing the mod. First it froze when it got to the main menu. I exited the game changed a few things and started it back up a few times and now it freezes at the start up logo for bohemia interactive. It freezes at the same spot for operation arrowhead when I try to play that. So it freezes for both arma 2 free and OA. Ive never had this problem before and I have tried reinstalling both of them and it still didnt work. I have tried verifying the game cache and it said 1 file was missing for both of them (which I think is normal anyways isnt it?). So how could I possible fix it? Ive never had this problem before and nothing on my pc has changed. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. P.S I am not very good with computers so try and make your help simple if possible lol. Thanks in advance Edited July 21, 2012 by jonesy96

Gunter Severloh 4088 Posted July 21, 2012 Hi What are your settings for the graphics option ingame? also have you checked your temps for your cpu, and GPU? For temps (temperature of your processor, and graphics card) for CPU to check try this app: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ now it freezes at the start up logo for bohemia interactive. what you can do is add the -nosplash parameter to skip all the loading screens, and splash screens, so that when you launch the game you go to the menu of the game right away. Graphics card is Nvida 9500 gt is a weak graphics card, this can be your issue. i suggest run your game without Dayz and see if you still get the freezing, if you still get the freezing then you may want to check your temps, if your temps are ok then well I will point my finger at your graphics card. In the future when you post your computer specs, just post the following: OS -operating system Ramm HD - Hard drive CPU- processor GPU - graphics card PSU - power supply
Khaos_Kiwi 1 Posted July 23, 2012 Hi I've also been having similar problems. I tried many different options to get ARMA 2 and OA to work without freezing every few seconds with no luck. So I used Steam backup to back up ARMA 2 and OA to my portable hard drive. I deleted the local content files and then reinstalled both ARMA 2 and OA. I then ran them each once, still having the same freezing problems - no matter what video option changes. So I then made sure my video drivers were up to date and then verified both game caches. This still didn't change anything. I then downloaded and installed the latest ARMA 2 beta patch- and still the same freezing problems. The game runs smooth in between, but is basically unplayable when it constantly freezes. My Specs Are: AMD Athlon II X2 255 Processor (rated at 3.1ghz) ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB 4GB RAM Windows 7 32-bit It's not the most impressive but it should be able to run the game. Please, any help would be much appreciated as I desperately want to be able to play the game. Thanks.

Khaos_Kiwi 1 Posted July 25, 2012 Is there anything else I can try to get the game to work without freezing for a few seconds every 5 seconds or so? It does this in the menus as well as in game too.
Gunter Severloh 4088 Posted July 26, 2012 Sorry for the late reply, been busy, but make sure your temps for your cpu and gpu are normal, high temps can causing freezing and or crashes, but also make sure any programs runnign in the background especially antivirus are turned off if that would help, make sure everything is up to date, and least but not least search the forums here as this has been reported before.
