loudbay 1 Posted July 16, 2012 I purchased ARMA2OA a couple of days ago. I CAN NOT get it to install... I've read through all of the AMAZON threads, and no one seems to be having the same problem... I think maybe I'm overlooking something stupid on my computer. I must be... A step or two after entering my KEY from Amazon, on the 'choose file destination' screen (I've tried default location and the suggested location from AMAZON INSTALL GUIDE), I click NEXT, and the installer freezes... The PC still works, but I have to CTRL ALT DEL to close the installer. Firewall, AVAST - Off Tried 'run as administrator' Re-downloaded both files 4 times now... What else could I try? PC Specs: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200@2.2ghz 3gb ram DirectX10 65gb free space Thanks a lot!!! Placebo 29 Posted July 17, 2012 Does the Amazon installer download in one lump and then install or is it one of those annoying webapps where you first download a small app then that app is used to download the actual game before the install? Yeah it should still install even if your PC was below spec to run the game at all. If you failed a number of times before turning off your firewall/AV it's possible you have a partial download stuck in your temp folder messing things up, have you tried rebooting, disabling your Fw/AV etc then cleaning out your temp folder? Used an aftermarket cleaner, so I think it cleared my temp folder, but I'll double check. I downloaded it on the work PC today and it fired right up... Something with my computer. I'll be sure to post results/solution... Shame Amazon downloader takes hours... ---------- Post added at 01:17 ---------- Previous post was at 00:40 ---------- Tried removing any trace of BIS, including registry... reboot, still freezes in same spot. Placebo 29 Posted July 18, 2012 Hmm nope I'm afraid that was about my best ideas ;) Maybe if it installs ok to your work PC you could take that installation to your home PC, just need the install directory and the registry settings exported, in theory!
