Server Installation (Linux)

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

First, sorry for my english, its not pretty good.

I will setting up an arma2 operation arrowhead Server on my Linux Root Server.

So i load up, the complete arrowhead Folder from my Steam installation, put the Server Files inside it. And try the ./install command.

So he is renaming all of the Folders.

Only 1 of them are not edited. The Expansion Folder.

After ./install 1 have an Expansion Folder and an expansion Folder.

Which Folder i need for the Server? And does i need the Windows Exe Files and the directX Folder?

And where can i get the config Files i need?

Thanks!

Hi CloudStrife

Check the content of Expansion, move any content (if any) to expansion and delete Expansion folder, Linux don't like capital letters.

You can safely delete any exe or dll file you find. thats M$ binaries, same goes with DX.

The config files should be in your main game folder by now, if not you'll find a good guide by Günter Severloh here.

Server.cfg is file where you main server configuration is stored, so failing to set anything there will make your server inoperational.

Arma2OA.cfg or basic.cfg is a file where various networking tweaks are stored or additional configs for fine tuning your server.
