Nicholas 5 Posted June 16, 2012 Have you tried downloading WinRAR so you can open the archive? Within that .rar archive should be the ArmA 2 Demo executable. ---------- Post added at 17:42 ---------- Previous post was at 17:41 ---------- Also, there is absolutely no need to post about this issue 3 times. [frl]myke 14 Posted June 16, 2012 Use WinRar to unpack the archieve, there you will find a executable to install the Demo.
Nicholas 5 Posted June 16, 2012 You open the .rar archive and then click on the executable (.exe) to install.

celery 8 Posted June 17, 2012 I stopped using WinRAR around 10 years ago because you have to pay to get the full version and it's pretty bad anyway. Use 7-Zip, people. The interface is laughably simple and it opens pretty much any archive.

You have to pay for a lot of things these days, Celery. If people have the money to spend let them. I paid $30 for WinRAR many years ago, that was a lifetime license. Open-source if good, but sometimes the paid software is just much, much better. For example, I used to use GIMP but ended up shelling out some cash for Photoshop CS6. Can't beat Photoshop CS6. I suppose both of our messages are off-topic, but oh well.
celery 8 Posted June 17, 2012 You have to pay for a lot of things these days, Celery. Or you can just get a superior product for free, which was my point. Suggesting payware with an annoying trial version to someone who encounters a non-zip archive for the first time is not the best idea IMHO.

I'm sorry I was helping someone and suggested the only program that I would suggest. I'm not familiar with 7-Zip, so I won't suggest it. WinRAR worked for him, didn't it? Yes.
